Chengetedzai Depository Company Limited is a limited liability company incorporated in terms of the laws of Zimbabwe and was formed to establish and operate a central securities depository for the Zimbabwe securities industry. Chengetedzai won the right to establish the first Central Securities Depository (“CSD”) company in Zimbabwe on 27 December 2010 in a public tender from the Securities Commission of Zimbabwe.
The company was founded when a group of information technology technocrats came together with one of Zimbabwe’s leading Transfer Secretarial companies, First Transfer Secretaries (FTS) to establish a consortium to bid for the public tender to establish and operate a CSD in Zimbabwe. FTS as the lead bidder and was represented by Campbell Vincent Musiwa and Khulekani Bruce Dzowa while the founding technocrats include Dr. Panashe Chiurunge, Samir Popatlal, Samuelle Dimairho, Nikhil Bhulabhai, Moffat Chikuni and Tony Kates
